该剧以民国军阀混战时期为背景，主要讲述了在战乱之下背负家仇的“冷酷军阀”萧鸿烨（李九霖饰演）千方百计接近“千金小姐”顾梦（关畅饰演），两人在家仇恩怨的交织下逐渐互生情愫，从而引发了一场爱恨纠葛的虐恋故事。。有腳疾的阿忠（喜翔飾）執意開車去屏東，彥博（鄭有傑飾）無奈之下只好載阿忠前往，父子倆一路沉默不語，關係疏離而遙遠。途中車子突然故障，兩人因此再次回到媽媽的故鄉—苑裡小鎮。媽媽過世後父子倆鮮少回來，對小鎮的變化和很久不見的親戚， 兩人都非常陌生。眾人言談間，當年的事又再次被提起……。。Mid-August in Paris (the title is a date: August 15) in a sunny, quiet apartment a young woman talks, thinks, reflects about herself, everyday life and little events in a long, uninterrupted monologue.
